Longxing Lands Bulk Supply Deal for Sustainable Carbon Black with European Tyre Manufacturer

Longxing Technology Group has announced its first bulk supply of sustainable carbon black (sCB) produced from waste tyre pyrolysis, marking a milestone in its push into circular-economy rubber materials

According to the company’s stock exchange announcement, an initial order of close to 10,000 tonnes has been placed by a major European tyre manufacturer, after certain grades within Longxing’s sustainability product line passed certification. Longxing says it is also progressing development agreements for sustainable green carbon black with other leading European tyre makers.

The breakthrough follows R&D work Longxing began in 2024 on producing carbon black from waste-tyre pyrolysis oil, with development of its “SC-series” carbon black completed in 2025. In December 2025, Longxing received environmental-impact approval for a new production project to manufacture the feedstock at scale.

Longxing’s sCB differs from conventional recovered carbon black (rCB), which is the relatively unrefined direct product of tyre pyrolysis. Instead, sCB uses tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO) to partially or fully replace coal tar and similar feedstocks in carbon black manufacturing. The company describes this as the most promising route for “green” carbon black, offering better economics than conventional carbon black while meeting growing low-carbon demand from tyre makers.

With sample submission and certification ongoing with further customers, and international tyre manufacturers increasingly rolling out programmes to substitute recycled materials into their supply chains, Longxing says it is drawing up plans to expand its tyre-pyrolysis-based carbon black capacity, phased in line with actual order volumes.

The company notes that future capacity expansion will depend on market demand and remains subject to risks from macroeconomic conditions, industry policy changes, and shifts in downstream demand and pricing.
