Recovered Carbon Black Europe 2026 Unveils Agenda for Amsterdam Event

Recovered Carbon Black Europe

Recovered Carbon Black Europe 2026 will take place in Amsterdam from 3–5 November, bringing together senior leaders and innovators from across the carbon black value chain to discuss the latest market developments, technical challenges and regulatory updates shaping the rCB industry

The two-day conference programme opens with a keynote from Continental and Pyrum Innovations, tracing the pair’s collaboration on rCB from early-stage development through to first industrial tyre applications. Jorge Almeida, Head of Sustainability at Continental, and Pyrum CEO Pascal Klein will discuss the challenges of industrialisation, the role of validation and scale-up, and why cross-industry collaboration is proving essential to making tyre circularity commercially viable.

The business-focused sessions dig into what’s holding rCB back from wider adoption. Orion Engineered Carbons’ Celso Magri  will talk about “Unlocking Tyre Circularity: Why Market Pull Matters,” while KBR’s Aashish Gaurav and Akash Desai will address the investment side, with a keynote called “Bankability in tyre pyrolysis: how engineering and project execution drive investment confidence.”

Feedstock quality is a recurring theme across the programme. Imperial College London’s Dr Geoff Fowler will examine how variability in end-of-life tyres affects rCB quality, while REGOM’s Bertrand Thoumsin will present on advanced tyre sorting and identification technologies designed to reduce feedstock heterogeneity and improve process consistency.

Day two of Recovered Carbon Black Europe moves deeper into technical territory, covering feedstock supply chains, rCB characterisation and analysis, production and upgrading processes, and in-rubber performance, with contributions from companies including Genan, TEC, Hankook, Fraunhofer Institute, femtoG, Cabot, Continental Reifen Deutschland and Standard Profil, closing with reflections from Continental and Wolfersdorff Consulting.
