InnoVent Renewables has announced its expansion into Texas with the establishment of Texas InnoVent Renewables Inc. (TIRES Inc), which will operate an end-of-life tyre (ELT) shredding and recycling facility near Houston
InnoVent Renewables said the TIRES facility will produce recycled steel and various grades of rubber crumb for applications including asphalt roads, landscaping, football fields, speed bumps and cement mixes.
According to InnoVent Renewables, around 1.5 billion ELTs are discarded globally each year, including more than 300 million in the US, creating environmental and public health challenges.
TIRES Inc has already secured a contract for a large industrial site, with the project expected to create between 15 and 20 full-time jobs covering roles including supervisors, facility managers, tyre processors and logistics personnel.
InnoVent Renewables said it is working with Pyxis Group on strategy, MassTandem’s Adrian Hernandez on permitting and offtake, and Shackelford’s Lori Hood on legal and compliance matters.
