Alpha Recyclage has acquired a new primary shredder from Recycla, with the investment aimed at increasing processing capacity, improving operational continuity and enhancing process efficiency at its facilities in France

New Primary Shredder

The primary shredder represents the first critical stage in the recovery of ELTs, enabling a uniform and stable volume reduction. This facilitates subsequent stages of the process, such as component separation and preparation for material or energy recovery. With this equipment, Alpha Recyclage hopes to strengthen its industrial platform to handle higher volumes while meeting demanding standards of reliability and maintenance.

This decision forms part of Alpha Recyclage’s strategy to consolidate an operation with a strong industrial focus, based on logistics optimisation, flow traceability and the continuous improvement of overall plant performance.

“With this investment, we are reinforcing a key point in our treatment chain: the primary stage. We are seeking greater capacity, increased operational stability and a more robust process in order to continue improving efficiency and the service we provide to our customers. RECYCLA’s technology and industrial approach fit perfectly with our roadmap,” stated Christophe Demory, Deputy Managing Director of Alpha Recyclage.

The equipment acquired is a latest-generation primary shredder, designed to improve availability and productivity in demanding industrial environments. It is equipped with a system that enables fast blade change, minimising intervention times and ensuring short downtimes.

Salvador Pérez Lucena, CSO of the Industrial Division of the Grupo Soledad, commented: “We are proud that Alpha Recyclage has placed its trust in our technology for such a critical stage as primary shredding. This latest-generation equipment has been designed with a clear priority: maximising availability. That is why it incorporates a design prepared for the fastest blade change on the market, minimising downtime and ensuring stable operation from day one.”

The project also includes installation planning and commissioning, as well as a technical monitoring plan aimed at guaranteeing target performance from the very first weeks of operation.
