Birla Carbon today announces organisational changes to align with market trends, focus more on creating value with the customers and drive execution, transitioning to a structure focused on three business units: Asia, Americas & EMEA and Speciality Materials
John Loudermilk, President & Chief Executive Officer, Birla Carbon, said, “The rapid pace of change today requires a nimble organisation, empowered to make quick decisions and act. These changes will enable Birla Carbon to further strengthen partnerships, drive innovation, and create value for our customers.”
Amit Kumar, currently Chief Manufacturing Officer, Asia, will become the President, Asia, responsible for the Rubber Business in the region. John Davidson, currently Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, will become President, Americas & EMEA, responsible for the Rubber Business in the region.
Shashank Awasthi, currently Head of Sales, Asia and Business Head, China, will become President, Speciality Materials, responsible for the Speciality Materials business globally, including Speciality Carbon Blacks and Nanocyl™, MWCNTs serving plastics, coatings, energy systems and other non-rubber markets.
Zachary Combs, currently Director of Technology for Energy Systems, will become Head, Global Technology, working on process and product development for Birla Carbon.
Together with the organisation changes, Birla Carbon will continue to assess its asset base aligned with market trends, leveraging major expansions in Asia, while demand has weakened in the Americas and Europe.
