Tyres with ContiRe.Tex technology come from polyester yarn, obtained from used polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles without any intermediate chemical steps and which cannot be recycled in any other way. This technology is present in PremiumContact 6, EcoContact 6 and AllSeasonContact all-season tyres, completely replacing conventional polyester in the carcass.
All tyres with ContiRe.Tex technology that can be found on the market come from Continental’s tyre plant in Lousado, Portugal. These tyres carry a special identifying logo on the sidewall that reads “Contains Recycled Material (CRM)“.
