Swedish Tyre Recycling (SDAB) created a short film that follows Alexandra Jansson Moreno during the creation of the sculpture series A Knot in Motion, situated at the intersection of art, philosophy and tyre recycling
The short film is a part of the Art of Recycling initiative created by SDAB, which invites artists to interpret tyre recycling through their own creative practices. The film shows Jansson Moreno’s artistic process and the ideas behind A Knot in Motion. As the physical artwork gradually takes shape, a wider narrative emerges, one about the interconnected relationship between humans and the materials that surround us.
The SDAB film aims to raise questions about responsibility, interconnectedness and mutual dependence, presenting the world as an entangled network in which the boundaries between human and material begin to dissolve.
“The title A Knot in Motion comes from a text by philosopher Donna Haraway, an important figure within posthumanist thought. By describing the world as a knot in motion, she conveys the idea that it is our relationships with one another that shape both humanity and the world we live in,” says Alexandra Jansson Moreno.
The sculpture series was presented during Stockholm Craft Week 2024 and 2025 and is now being given new life through the film format. The film is created in collaboration with True North / True Production.
