Tana Oy has introduced Tana Wingman, a new digital operator assistant for TANA shredders that combines real-time machine data with a live hopper camera view to improve visibility, safety and operational efficiency
Designed for TANA Hammerhead and TANA Shark shredders, the system delivers key machine information directly to loading machine operators through a tablet-based interface, helping them monitor the shredding process and respond more quickly to changing conditions during loading and feeding.
By providing immediate access to a live machine view and operational data, Tana Wingman supports faster decision-making, smoother material flow and safer day-to-day operation. The system operates locally via Wi-Fi between the shredder and the tablet, without requiring cloud services or an internet connection, ensuring that all data remains on-site.
“Tana Wingman gives operators immediate access to the information they need exactly where they need it. By combining a live hopper view with real-time machine data, it supports faster decision-making, smoother material flow, and safer day-to-day operation,” said Petteri Tiainen, Product Marketing Manager, Digital Solutions at Tana Oy.
The system is available for all D-series TANA Hammerhead and TANA Shark shredders and can be installed either as a factory option on new machines or as a retrofit kit for existing equipment. It runs through the Tana Wingman app on commercially available Android tablets and is available via the Google Play Store.
According to Tana, key benefits of the system include:
- Improved visibility into the hopper and faster response to blockages or irregular material flow.
- Reduced interruptions by allowing operators to monitor the shredder without leaving the cab.
- Safer shredder feeding and reduced risk of damage to loading equipment.
- Access to essential machine data and settings directly at the point of operation.
- Greater transparency of production performance through visible output capacity data.
- Local operation without cloud services or internet connectivity.
Tana says the solution is designed to help operators maintain productivity while improving safety and operational awareness in demanding shredding applications.
