Rubber Powders Opens New Markets for Tyre Recyclers – Issue 2013-4
Tyre recycling is a viable business and has been proven to buck recessionary trends even in crisis environments in the past. However, nowadays tyre recyclers are facing rising challenges as the growth rates of established markets are weakening and new markets must quickly be developed. It is also getting more and more important to differentiate business towards the competition as the production of rubber granulates has become widely popular. Simultaneously, the ratio of recycling uses to energy recovery uses is constantly on the rise. This trend is putting pressure on tyre input prices, as exporting whole or shredded tyres will in some cases effect availability of tyre supply. These export activities are often carried out illegally but are still taking place and will continue to undermine the used tyre input market in the future.
