Continental and Tour de France Extend Partnership until 2027

Continental continues its commitment as a main and safety partner as well as a supplier of tyres for the Tour de France

Prior to the start of the Tour de France in Copenhagen on July 1, 2022, Continental and the Tour have agreed to extend their partnership and sponsorship activities through to 2027. Continental, in its position as one of the top five partners and the winning partner of the stage, will continue to actively shape the world’s biggest and most important cycling race for years to come, in turn contributing toward a safe and sustainable future for the Tour. In addition, the new ContiRe.Tex recycling technology is already being used in this year’s edition.

Christian Prudhomme, Director of the Tour de France, is delighted with the extension of this collaboration: “Continental is one of the most important innovation partners for the Tour de France, so we are proud to be able to continue benefiting from the know-how of the Continental experts in tyre technology and sustainability for another five years.”

Continental supports a more sustainable Tour de France

In addition to premium tyre performance for cycling professionals and their support riders, sustainable mobility also plays an important role for Continental. By 2030, the company aims to become the most advanced tyre manufacturer in the area of sustainability, and is also carrying these ambitions into its sponsorship partnership with the Tour de France. “One of the objectives of this collaboration is to continue betting on greater sustainability. In addition, Continental will once again be the tyre partner for six of the participating professional cycling teams this year. Riders from Ineos Grenadiers, Groupama-FDJ, Bahrain-Victorious, Movistar Team, Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux and Team Arkéa-Samsic will battle for their place on the podium on GP5000 tyres that have been specially handcrafted.
