Ecopneus Continues Support for the Trento Sports Festival
The scheduled aevents include a tournament on the Tyrefield field for padel with some legends of Italian football such as Vieri, Cassano and Materazzi and a morning of great basketball with the former captain of the national team Giacomo “Gek” Galanda.
When sport meets sustainability, physical activity becomes even more engaging. With this strategy, Ecopneus was again the Sustainability partner of the Trento Sport Festival (7-10 October), bringing four sports surfaces including basketball, tennis and padel, made with recycled rubber from ELTs, in partnership with Mapei.
Tyrefield is ecofriendly material with which playing fields can be created for almost any sport, from basketball to football, from volleyball to tennis, from horse riding to padel, a discipline in explosive growth throughout Europe. A new concept of sports facilities with a green perspective that is becoming increasingly popular thanks also to the commitment of Ecopneus.
Ecopneus is strongly committed to the promotion and spread of the many applications of recycled rubber such as the new generation Tyrefield sports fields. Among the protagonists of this edition there will be the Tyrefield for padel, an absolute novelty at the Festival, where on Friday 8th some Italian and international football legends such as Bobo Vieri, Antonio Cassano, Marco Materazzi, Lele Adani and Nicola Ventola competed.
The field was created with the collaboration of Waterproofing, Ecopneus’ technical partner. The spotlight is also on the Tyrefield for 3×3 basketball and on the Tyrefield field for basketball, where the legendary Giacomo “Gek” Galanda, former captain of the Italian national basketball team, transmitted his passion for the ball and teach tricks to young basketball players. learned in past years on playgrounds all over the world.
The 3×3 basketball court will also host the Italian athletes and the coach of the Italian 3×3 basketball team Andrea Capobianco. A “special” semi-removable field, that of the 3×3 basketball court, made thanks to the support of SP Plast with Tyreplast plates, an innovative material created by combining plastic and recycled rubber. Even on the Tyrefield tennis court, created thanks to Mapei such as the Tyrefield basketball court, Italian tennis characters from the past and the present will alternate, with the extraordinary participation of Filippo Volandri and Tathiana Garbin, together with simple enthusiasts and young budding tennis players.
The secret ingredient of the four playing fields is the recycled rubber from End-of-Life Tyres, a precious and eco-friendly material, with which sports surfaces are developed that are appreciated even at the highest levels thanks to the many advantages they allow: optimal performance and playability, anti-shock protection for athletes, resistance to all weather conditions.
In sports surfaces, recycled rubber is used as an elastic mat placed on the foundations, on which fillers and acrylic resins are then applied to form the outer surface layer.
The versatility of this solution allows it to be used to create surfaces with specific characteristics depending on the particular discipline and intended use, whether for professional athletes, for leisure, for amateur or school sports.
