Safety Protectors for Stairs Manufactured From ELT

TNU highlights the use of recycled rubber in everyday products, such as step-edge protectors.

Recycled rubber from end-of-life tyres can be used in numerous ecological products and services that offer new alternatives within industry, construction, sports, agriculture, livestock, decoration, and infrastructure, says Spain’s TNU

Hand in hand with the latest technological advances, crushed, granulated, or powdered rubber is reused in an endless list of new uses that offer significant advantages in environmental and economic terms.

The research applied to the recycling of end-of-life tyres has made it possible to create new products, for example, useful ecological safety protectors for stairs and corners made from 100% recycled rubber from ELT. Protection is specifically designed to prevent slips, and accidental falls, absorb shocks and reduce the risk of injuries in corners and columns with sharp angles, stairs, dangerous areas, etc.

Their excellent shock absorption properties make them ideal for avoiding accidents. In addition, it is a versatile, durable, and easy-to-use product. It is applied on all surfaces and is easily adaptable to any place where extra protection is needed, such as schools, gyms, and car parks, where they protect the users, facilities and vehicles from bumps and scratches.

Manufacturing a 9-kilo piece of these protectors allows the rubber from three tyres to be reused, saving the environment 92 kilos of CO2 emissions, 70 litres of oil and 5,882 litres of water, says TNU.
