Mars Mineral has expanded its presence in Europe by shipping its 12th pin mixer for recovered carbon black (rCB) processing to the European Union. The latest unit, Model 12D54Li-SS, supports the region’s growing tyre recycling sector, bringing the company’s total global installations to 24
Derived from the pyrolysis of end-of-life tyres (ELTs), rCB is gaining traction as demand for circular material solutions increases. With around 3.5 million tonnes of ELTs generated annually in Europe, investment in recycling infrastructure and downstream processing technologies continues to rise.
Designed for high-throughput operations, the Mars Mineral pin mixer converts rCB into high-quality, ASTM-grade pellets suitable for applications such as coatings, tyres, batteries and other industrial products.

Across its European installations, the company’s equipment can process several million tonnes of material annually, depending on system configuration and application. Mars Mineral also operates a further 12 rCB pin mixers globally, reflecting continued demand for its agglomeration technology.
The Model 12D54Li-SS supplied for the project is CE-certified under EU machinery regulations and designed for ATEX Zone 22 environments, ensuring safe operation in conditions where combustible dust may be present—an important consideration in rCB production processes.
