Ecomondo will return to the Rimini Expo Centre, Italy, from 3 to 6 November 2026, bringing together companies, institutions and researchers working across the green, blue and circular economy. The 29th edition of the event is expected to feature more than 1,800 exhibiting brands and over 1,000 buyers, with an increasingly international focus and an expanded exhibition dedicated to resource recovery
For this year’s edition, Ecomondo is further strengthening its international profile, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), with a goal of attracting more buyers, delegations and industry associations from all continents. Through its multi-stop Roadshows in Spain, Morocco, Germany, Hungary and Canada, the event hopes to improve institutional and commercial ties while expanding its international network.
The 2026 conference programme at Ecomondo will feature over 70 events, conferences and workshops organised by the event’s International Technical Scientific Committee in Rimini, in collaboration with European and international partners. Regulation will be among the key themes, including developments focusing on the Circular Economy Act, the Bioeconomy Strategy and the Critical Raw Materials Act.
Technological solutions for resource recovery from end-of-life products and materials in the Mediterranean landscape is just one of the sessions being held at Ecomondo in 2026. Organised by Ecomondo’s Technical and Scientific Committee, together with the Italian Chemical Society, ISWA International and ATIA-ISWA, the session will examine technologies that can improve resource recovery and help return materials to production cycles.
Furthermore, measuring circularity from a systemic perspective across the entire value chain is a session that will explore approaches to measuring circularity and assessing the origin, quality and environmental impact of materials derived from recycling and reuse.
The programme will also address new provisions on extended producer responsibility, an area of particular relevance to the collection and recycling of end-of-life products. Other topics include WEEE and batteries, plastics and resource efficiency, raw materials, packaging and waste management regulation, textiles, paper, soil, water and more.
On top of this, the Waste as Resource sector is expanding for 2026 as it reinforces its place within an event that brings together waste management, recycling and technologies for recovering value from discarded materials. The sector will feature valorisation and integrated waste management, waste handling and lifting solutions, collection and transport container services and waste treatment, waste disposal and finally technology and components.
For the tyre recycling sector, the exhibition will provide an opportunity to connect with technology providers and organisations involved in end-of-life tyre management, while offering visitors a broader view of developments shaping the recycling industry. Companies including FOR REC, Eldan, Fornnax and Innovando are among the key exhibitors, alongside the EPR schemes for the Italy sector: Ecopneus and Ecotyre.
