Swedish polymer scientist and inventor, Ake Paulsson is once more back at the helm of the company that he started, Ecorub.
Paulsson used his experience in polymers to blend recycled rubbers and polymers to create a wide range of rubber-based materials that could be used, specifically but not exclusively in the automotive sector. Having built up a chain of clients that included Volvo, Ford, General Motors and Daimler Chrysler; Paulsson sold the company to a team of venture capitalists who stripped the company and divested it if many of its key customers.
When they went bankrupt, Paulsson and some dissappointed investors came together to acquire the company and set about rebuilding it.
Currently the plant lies mothballed awaiting disposal or purchase and Paulsson and his team hope to be back in business later this year.
