Swiss See Increase in Tyre Dumping

Swiss authorities are collecting illegally dumped tyres and will prosecute offenders

The Swiss Canton of Jura has recorded an increase in the illegal dumping of used tyres. These tyres have to be disposed of at a cost to the public purse.

The Swiss authorities are now increasing their monitoring and control of the movement of used tyres. In particular, they will be looking at the unauthorised trade in tyres at all levels of the market. Any future contraventions uncovered will be presented to the public prosecutor.
