T2O Plant – Danish Firm Starts Producing Pyrolysis Oil

T2O Egebjerg is developing a new T2O plant in the small city of Egebjerg in the county of Odsherred. When fully operational, the plant will have an installed capacity of 45 tons per day and 3 lines of production.

Danish pyrolysis firm Tires2Oil (T2O) is now in production in Denmark.

General Manager Lars Boysen claims that the T2O plant in Egebjerg will offer an alternative to granulation, which is cheaper, more environmental and recycles the tyres into reusable raw materials.

The plant operates in a 15,000 sqm. facility in an industrial zone outside the town of Egebjerg. The project has been developed in close co-operation with municipal authorities and experts. The T2O plant has a green profile and will offer jobs to 30-40 staff when in full operation.

As part of the green profile, the T2O plant is planning to establish a small local district heating system based on excess energy from the plant. The T2O plant has approximately 1.1 MW that can be used for this purpose.

The design of the T2O plant in Egebjerg is innovative compared to existing plants. Both the reactors and the heating system have been re-designed in order to achieve a more homogeneous and efficient process and a higher quality of the recovered carbon black.
