Tables from Tyres and Twine

On a lighter side of things…

Australian-based Jasmine Campbell, who runs homeware website Modern Mila, first began creating the coffee tables after she realised how much waste her family was making. Keen to make a difference, she began turning leftover scraps found around the home into homeware accessories.

Upcycler creates stylish woven twine coffee tables from old car tyres

The repurposed tyres — which Jasmine now sells for around £116 — are wrapped in woven twine, have wooden legs, a tropical print fabric on top and are fitted with a sealed bottom. Best of all, each design has a removable lid which reveals a secret storage space inside.

As well as being a cost-effective and sustainable way to repurpose the tyres, it shows how a little imagination can go a long way – and people cannot get enough of them.

“Like all my upcycle projects, I’m really quite passionate about these guys. It is so hard to get trendy furniture at a reasonable cost and made sustainably. Plus, it comes with that additional storage space under the lid,” Jasmine wrote on Facebook.
