Leading tyre pyrolysis operation hit by fire

Around 3:00 am the fire brigade was warned about the fire that was raging in an oven. The flames burned out of the roof. By 5:30 the warehouse had been razed to the ground.

Several fire engines were called to fight the flames. Firefighters from Nederweert were helped by, among others, colleagues from Weert, Grathem and Heythuysen.

A lot of smoke was released during the fire. Because the wind came from the south, the smoke plume was floating towards the outskirts of Nederweert. As far as we know, nobody has been injured. Also, There appeared to be no threat to public health from the emissions.

It is not the first time that the fire brigade has been sent to the company according to the local press. At the end of December there was a small fire in a production hall, and at the beginning of January, there was an alarm twice because there were flames in the flue.
