Italian EPR management company Ecopneus, is to initiate a study into the equestrian market for end of life tyre rubber.

This market is one that is important to many shredder operations, but it is one about which very few statistics are available for.
Giovanni Corbetta, CEO of Ecopneus, told Tyre and Rubber Recycling that the study would look into all areas of the equestrian sector from matting and carpets through to ménages and gallops. It was time, he said, that the industry knew more about this considerable market. He pointed to the UK as an example of the role the equestrian sector played, and this was mirrored in many other European countries. However, to date, no study had been carried out and this move by Ecopneus was designed to give recyclers more information about the sector.
